Duration of sessions

The duration of the sessions is generally 50 minutes and includes 10 minutes to keep patient records up to date.

Cancellation

WITHOUT 48 HOURS WORKING DAYS notice, you agree to pay in FULL the fees for the missed session. It goes without saying that in this case no receipt for insurance purposes can be provided.

Confidentiality

The information disclosed during a session is strictly confidential unless:

  • the law requires that confidential information be disclosed,
  • you or others are threatened (real and imminent danger,
  • a child needs protection,
  • you have been sexually abused by a medical profesionnal, and
  • the information is shared during supervision.

Provincial medical insurance coverage

Most provincial health plans do not cover psychological services. However, fees for psychotherapy are recognized as medical expenses and are tax deductible.

Insurance plan from your employer

Services may be covered by your insurance company. It is your responsibility, and it is best, to check if the services are covered before the therapy begins. You can ask them if psychotherapy services provided by a psychotherapist who is a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario is covered.
